IT ALL STARTS WITH AN ENDLESS PASSION
For the music that keeps us going, for the voices that spark our creativity, for the discoveries that shape our sound, for the bond that unites us, and for the life that fuels our passion.
We’re Mixed Signals—four musicians each shaped by a different musical journey. Some of us discovered our love for music when we were barely tall enough to hold an instrument: banging on pots and pans at age ten, learning guitar at eight, or mastering the bagpipes at seven and performing in local weddings and events. A few of us were raised in families overflowing with talent, where drumming was just as natural as picking up a guitar. Others spent their early years writing songs and playing gigs in our hometowns, inspired by icons like Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr, Liam Fray, and the funky beats of drummers such as Benny Greb. Despite our unique paths, we were all united by that undeniable spark—the drive to bring our music to life on stage.
Eventually, we crossed paths at university, where a one-off session gig showed us how perfectly our influences meshed together. The synergy was instant, and Mixed Signals quickly evolved into a close-knit band. Our music, fueled by the Britpop swagger of our heroes and the raw energy of rock heavyweights like Biffy Clyro, is defined by a passion we’ve each carried since childhood. We love writing new songs, hitting the stage, and sharing laughs along the way. We can’t wait for what the future holds, because we know we’re on this journey together—ready to make some noise as Mixed Signals.

After leaving school, I decided to attend university, where I met the rest of the band. I asked each member to perform as a session musician at one of my gigs, and from that, Mixed Signals started. It felt like the perfect fit for us and I’ve loved it so far.

I started my music career at 7 years old by learning to play the bagpipes. I quickly fell in love with the instrument and eventually joined a pipe band, where I played for 4 years. During this time, I performed at my first concerts, weddings, and live events, which gave me a sense of what it’s like to play in front of a crowd. I really enjoyed this, but after a while, I wanted to explore something new, so I picked up the guitar in my third year of high school. This sparked my passion for music and my desire to play in a band.
After finishing school, I decided to pursue music further and enrolled at UWS, where I met Mixed Signals.
Since joining Mixed Signals, I’ve played my first gig, recorded our own songs, and shared some great laughs along the way. I love the band and the opportunities we’ve had, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

When I was growing up, music was everywhere. Music would be playing in the halls of my childhood home, where my parents each built my influences subconsciously. I knew I was going to play an instrument, I needed to. After having played on pots and pans dreaming of stadiums and huge crowds, I got my first drum kit at the age of 10. I spent years playing for hours every day, drumming became my world. I found that my favourite genre to play was Funk music, and so I leaned into it, I got trained for several years honing my ability to play by feel, I never much bothered with sheet music. I found particular interest with “pocket playing”, keeping things tight with interesting off the wall type drum fills. I loved the particular styles of Benny Greb and Neil Peart with their odd time signatures and intricate works through different genres.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a family of musicians. My dad is a drummer, guitarist, bassist, and more, and my mum was also a singer. I started playing the drums at a young age and soon moved on to the guitar.
My biggest inspiration is Biffy Clyro. Working with Mixed Signals has allowed me to write new songs, gain more experience on stage, and meet lots of new friends.
